Luckin Coffee Opens Its Landmark 20,000th Store in Beijing
Luckin Coffee Inc. (“Luckin Coffee” or the “Company”) (OTC: LKNCY) announced the opening of its 20,000th store in Beijing, which was celebrated on July 18, 2024. As the largest coffee chain brand in China by store count, Luckin Coffee has always put its customers first. The Company focuses on product innovation, invests heavily in its supply chain, and continually enhances its digital capabilities to push China’s coffee industry to new heights of customer satisfaction.
Dr. Guo Jinyi, Chairman and CEO of Luckin Coffee, commented, "Luckin Coffee's growth and development have been fueled by the support of more than 230 million customers and the dedication of 110,000 Luckin employees. Looking ahead, we will keep improving the consumer experience and prioritizing being an employer of choice, guided by our core values of ‘Integrity, Craftsmanship, Innovation, Ownership and Cooperation.’ We will continue to strive towards becoming an outstanding, world-class coffee brand that lasts for centuries."
To celebrate the occasion, artist Ren Zhe created a one-of-a-kind themed sculpture that highlights the store's artistic atmosphere and cutting-edge use of technology. The sculpture is inspired by the slogan "Luck in Hand" – the notion that luck does not come by chance, but rather, it is achieved through perseverance and hard work. The celebration was well attended, including appearances by Mr. Adriano Giacomet, Head of Trade and Investment Section of the Embassy of Brazil, Mr. David Li, Chairman and CEO of Centurium Capital, and Dr. Guo.
The 20,000th Luckin Coffee store is located in a central area, blending technology and artistic flair in its overall design. Additionally, the store is built to LEED ID+C v4 Platinum standards, highlighting Luckin Coffee's commitment to sustainability. Currently, Luckin Coffee has three LEED Gold-certified stores in China. Furthermore, Luckin Coffee's 20,000th store features small roasters and a set of fully automated digital pour-over coffee machines, providing customers with a more diverse and elevated coffee experience.
To ensure a consistent and high-quality coffee supply across its 20,000 stores, Luckin Coffee sources premium coffee beans from top-producing regions worldwide, including Brazil, Ethiopia, and Yunnan, China. In June of this year, in the presence of Brazilian Vice President Geraldo Alckmin, Luckin Coffee entered into a series of letters of intent to purchase approximately 120,000 metric tons of coffee beans from Brazil through the end of 2025. On July 11, 2024, Brazilian Ambassador Marcos Galvão visited Luckin Coffee’s Beijing headquarters for discussions, reaffirming their commitment to promoting the coffee trade and cultural exchanges between China and Brazil. Going forward, Luckin Coffee will collaborate with the Brazilian government and partners to further promote Brazilian coffee, allowing more Chinese consumers to appreciate its quality and environmental sustainability, with the aim of making coffee a symbol of Brazil.
By establishing a Green Coffee Bean Processing Plant in Baoshan, Yunnan, and two Roasting Plants in Jiangsu and Fujian, Luckin Coffee has built a robust self-processing and roasting network with an annual capacity of 45,000 tons. This substantial investment enhances Luckin Coffee’s quality control capabilities across the entire coffee production process. Leveraging its digital advantages, Luckin Coffee consistently delivers high-quality products and services across its stores through a systematic, standardized, and meticulous store operations approach.
Luckin Coffee remains committed to its vision of creating a world-class coffee brand and integrating seamlessly into people’s daily lives. The Company will look to continuously enhance its products and services, offering consumers a high-quality, high-convenience, high-affordability, and delightful coffee experience.
